Furse and A.N. Wallis copper-bonded, solid copper and stainless steel earth rods, 1.2 to 3 m long, ½ to ¾ inch.
Type A, B, E, G and GUV earth rod clamps and tower clamps in gunmetal and copper alloy.
Solid and lattice copper earth plates for ground where earth rods won't drive.
Lightweight polymer and concrete earth inspection pits, from light traffic to heavy duty.
Copper earth bars with twin disconnecting links, made to order in Jeddah.
Conductive backfill that lowers earth resistance in sand, rock and poor soil.
Copper or aluminium flat tape for lightning protection air terminations and down conductors.
Copper tape, bar, braid and stranded earthing cable, bare, PVC covered or LSOH.
A lightning protection system is only as good as its weakest joint. We supply every part of it, from the air rods on the roof to the earth rods in the ground, so the whole system goes on one quote.
Air rods and a mesh of flat tape or solid circular conductor give a strike somewhere safe to land.
Copper or aluminium down conductors, held by DC tape clips, run to a test joint at the base.
Earth rods or plates, joined with clamps or exothermic welds, take fault and lightning current into the soil.
An inspection pit over each rod means the earth can be checked every year without breaking ground.

Best for
Copper has the best conductivity and holds up in the ground, so earth electrodes, buried conductors and bonding are copper. Bare copper tape and stranded cable are the standard, with PVC covered or LSOH tape where the run needs protecting, and braid for flexible bonds.
Ask for copper tape ›Bare or PVC covered aluminium tape is lighter and costs less, so it suits long air termination and down conductor runs above ground. Keep it out of direct contact with soil and concrete, and change to copper with a bimetallic joint before it reaches the earth.
Ask for aluminium tape ›Graphite moulds, powder and flint guns for permanent joints.
Explore ›Tinned copper lugs and glands to terminate every earth cable.
Explore ›Copper earth bars and busbars fabricated to your drawing.
Explore ›Number plates, danger plates and phase plates.

Ask for a price ›Type A, B, E, G and GUV clamps, plus tower earth clamps.
Ask for a price ›Stop water and gas ingress where the rod enters the structure.
Ask for a price ›Solid copper plates for low-resistance earthing where rods cannot be driven.

Furse, A.N. Wallis and Axis, among others. If your specification names a different brand, send it and we will confirm availability or offer an approved equivalent.
A copper-bonded rod has a high-strength steel core with copper molecularly bonded to it, so it can be driven deep without bending and costs less per metre. A solid copper rod is copper all the way through, with the best conductivity and corrosion resistance but less driving strength. Copper-bonded rods are the usual choice for buildings and substations.
In aggressive or saline soil, and next to steel structures, tanks and pipelines, where a copper electrode could speed up galvanic corrosion of the steel. 316 grade stainless steel is the usual specification.
Drive rods deeper using couplers, add more rods in parallel spaced well apart, use earth plates, and surround the electrode with conductive earth electrode backfill. Send us the target resistance from your spec and the site location and we will suggest the materials.
Yes. We supply everything from the air termination network and down conductors to the test joints, earth rods, inspection pits and backfill, together with the clamps, fixings and bonds in between. Send the drawing or BOQ and we quote it as one package.
Aluminium is lighter and costs less for long runs above ground. Copper is used for anything in contact with soil or concrete and for earthing. Many systems use aluminium on the roof and change to copper with a bimetallic joint at the test point.
Yes. Graphite moulds, welding powder, handle clamps and flint guns are on our exothermic welding page and can go on the same quote.
